The series Schriften zur Vorderasiatischen Archäologie (SVA), founded in 1989 by Winfried Orthmann, covers the entire field of research of Near Eastern archaeology – both geographically and temporally. It spans the area from Anatolia and the Mediterranean coast to Hindus, and from Central Asia to Yemen, as well as chronologically from the beginning of the Neolithic period to the spread of Islam. The series provides a formal and thematic forum for excavation reports, conference proceedings, dissertations, and handbooks.
The journal is published by Harrassowitz.
